Bears for Israel

A few years ago Program Chair, Donna Salus, read about Bears for Israel in the Paper Pomegranate. She was intrigued by this project and looked forward to maybe someday working on it with the Peach State Stitchers. She also wanted to work on a project which would not only teach members a new skill but would also provide a benefit to a charity rather than just have a new item to sit on her shelf.

Donna committed to having Peach State Stitchers make and donate 18 bears by May 2021. The bears were donated to the American Friends of Jordan River Village Foundation. Jordan River Village is a year-round camp in Israel for seriously ill children of all religions, ethnic and socio-economic levels. The village offers campers the opportunity to experience the magic of camp while leaving their illness related hardships at the door. You can read more at: Jordanrivervillage.org
